Public open space & community sports area
There will be approximately 9.9 hectares of open space, play and recreation within the development
The open spaces have been designed to meet the needs of future residents as well as providing habitats for wildlife, supporting the drainage strategy, maintaining the separation from surrounding settlements and creating a high-quality landscape setting for the new community.
There will also be a community sports area (approximately 2.76 hectares) located next to Deer Park School playing fields. This will be owned and managed by the Borough Council for public use.
There will be three new formal areas of play for children and young people. Local Equipped Areas for Play (LEAPs) will include swings, slides and climbing frames for young children, while a Neighbourhood Equipped Area for Play (NEAP) will include a hard surfaced games area. There will also be a more natural area of play for younger children.
