Water

A Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDs) has been incorporated within the landscape design. These drainage features will support the development by managing and filtering surface water before slowly releasing it into the nearest watercourse. These features will include swales, rain gardens and ponds carefully designed to provide a safe environment and enhance biodiversity. 

An area suitable for wetland meadows, wet woodlands and boardwalks has been identified to the west of the site abutting the River Hamble. This zone will provide a green buffer to the river, enlarging this habitat area.
